Privacy Policy
Last updated
This policy explains what information the Persian American Research & Strategy Institute (“PARSI,” “we,” or “us”) collects through parsi.org and how we use it.
We don't sell or share your information
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with anyone. We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't give or sell our member or subscriber lists to other organizations, campaigns, or businesses.
The only exceptions are narrow ones:
- Service providers that run parts of the site for us, such as web hosting and email delivery. They handle information only on our behalf and may not use it for any other purpose.
- Legal requirements, when we are required by law, such as by a valid court order, to disclose information.
Information we collect
- Information you give us, such as your name and email address when you subscribe to updates, become a member, register for an event, or contact us.
- Sign-in information. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name and email address so we can match you to your membership. We never see your Google password. If you sign in with an email and password, we store your password only in encrypted (hashed) form.
- Basic technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, which our servers record to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
- To provide the site and the member area, and to keep your account secure.
- To manage memberships and event registrations.
- To send the updates you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To respond to your messages.
- To protect the site against abuse and to meet legal obligations.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work, for example to keep you signed in to the member area and to protect forms from misuse. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above: for example, for as long as you are a member or subscriber, and for a reasonable time afterward to meet legal and record-keeping obligations.
Security
We protect your information with reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you emails. Write to us at info@parsi.org.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above. For significant changes, we will let members know by email.
